EASY DIY Easter Egg Tree – Modern Version

Spread the love

Spring is here! This Easy DIY Easter Egg Tree – Modern Version is QUICK to make and OH so pretty to look at! The tree is a twist on the standard Easter egg tree, with eggs hanging from branches. Instead, the natural looking eggs in this arrangement are nestled snugly at the base, much like you’d find them in their natural habitat. The branches have realistic, spring “blossoms” popping out, as though the Cherry Blossom is just waking up. It can be used for Easter decorating or simply spring. Even better, it’s SO easy to make! Let’s take a look…

Flower on branch

The branches I used are from my backyard. You can also purchase branches at your local craft store, but honestly, I like using natural branches. They offer a more whimsical look. Wherever you get them, try to pick branches that aren’t straight, for an authentic looking tree.

Supplies needed for the Easy DIY Easter Egg Tree – Modern Version:

  • Any vase or pot of your choosing. This one is very similar to the pot I used. It comes with the mid-century modern plant stand.
  • Branches found outside (preferred) or at your local craft store.
  • Dry foam like this. It’s important to get the higher quality floral dry foam, since these branches are large and need strong support.
  • Faux flowers of your choosing. I got mine from Michael’s. These look to be pink cherry blossoms, but you can also use yellow fresia, another spring flower.
  • Natural looking eggs. Mine are from Michael’s.
  • Moss, found at your local craft store.
  • Small knife.
  • Glue gun and glue sticks.

How to make the Easy DIY Easter Egg Tree – Modern Version:

Step 1:

Cut the dry foam using any small knife, such as a steak knife, and insert it into your vase, making sure it fits snugly.

Step 2:

Arrange your branches, poking them firmly into the dry foam.

Step 3:

Lay moss on top of the dry foam and around the branches.

Step 4:

Place the eggs on top of the moss.

Step 5:

Pull a flower stem off of the bunch. Clip the end, just a little bit, right above its base. (See below.)

Step 6:

Begin gluing the stems of the flowers to the branches. For the most realistic effect, pick a side of the tree that will be most prominent and glue the stem bottoms just behind a joint or knot in the branch. This will make it look like the flower has just pushed out from the branch. You can choose to put a few flowers on the arrangement, go for the lush look with many or somewhere in between. Now is the time to get creative and make it your own!
