The key to keeping costs down in this space was using what I already owned and loved as much as possible. All totaled I only spent about $1300! Here’s a breakdown of what was purchased and what was repurposed:

The bed had been where the desk is now, right next to the door. An odd place for a bed to be.

I kept debating whether to paint the door trim or not, only bcuz I was trying to justify avoiding yet another project. In the end, there was no justifying lazy. I’m so glad I did it! I think it makes a huge difference.
The Ikea Poang chair, I’ve wanted it for years. When I saw it was available on Amazon, it was mine.
