Spread the love

Here we are at WEEK 6 of the One Room Challenge already! Check out how far all the participants have come, right here. And don’t forget to hop over to my obsession, Apartment Therapy – they’re the media partner for the One Room Challenge! #ORCAT But first, read along here to see what we’ve been up to at Home and Darlings – Master Bedroom Makeover, One Room Challenge.

I’ve been doing some shopping and I’m super excited to share with you these unique finds. Let’s take a look…

While this post contains affiliate links which may send me a few coins, I only recommend what I love and it never costs you a cent. If you like what you see, go through me!

Master Bedroom Makeover – One Room Challenge Weeks 5 & 6:

Ceiling fans are typically hideous monstrosities you probably need if your home tends to be warm and sleep is important to you. Never you fear though, I’ve done the research and I’m confident I found the coolest looking ceiling fan at an INSANELY good price! WIN-WIN! Here’s the ceiling fan situation before & after in my room:

HUGE fan difference. They are both 52″ wide and hang down to about 15″, but that’s where the similarities end. This ceiling fan is GORGEOUS, has midcentury modern written all over it and looks like art.

My next incredibly beautiful and frugal find:

These STUNNING, modern crystal door knobs !

New crystal door knob

The door knob on top is on my pantry door and is also beautiful. However, the new door knob on the bottom offers a modern look and is $100 less than the other (not a typo)!

I am so thrilled with these new door knobs! I’ve already installed one and cannot get over how easy it was to install – and I’ve never done this before! They also have a very nice weight to them. If you’ve been pricing crystal door knobs, you know how pricey they can be, but these are REALLY well priced! Check the latest price HERE.

Next up for the Master Bedroom Makeover, One Room Challenge:

This 100% Cotton Waffle Weave Blanket, in Light Khaki

This blanket has such a comfortable, weighty feel to it. It reminds me of the kind of blanket I would snuggle up under in my nana’s home, all cotton and cool to the touch. It will lay perfectly on top of the dark green, velvet duvet I’m loving. Again, quality and price are fantastic for both the blanket and duvet – only way to shop, imo!

Check out these textiles I just picked up:

Love the earthy colors and textures.

These luxurious materials will become a wall hanging which will live above the headboard. I think it’ll add a pretty punch to the space.

Lastly, for now, is the paint color and highly recommended paint brand I’m using for the bedroom and bathroom doors in this Master Bedroom Makeover space.

  • Paint Color: Gray Owl, Benjamin Moore
Gray Owl paint color BM
Gray Owl, Benjamin Moore NOTE: BM has two codes for Gray Owl, but it’s exactly the same color!
  • Paint Type: Emerald Urethane Trim Enamel, Sherwin Williams. This is the one area where you want to spend your $$. This paint is not cheap, but it will last FOREVER. When done, it has that hard, out of the factory look and feel to it. I’m pretty sure it can’t be duplicated and it’s worth every penny. I used this paint for my dark green pantry door (pic above) and my only regret was that I didn’t know about it before I painted my kitchen cabinets (and I used a good cabinet paint for my cabinets!). I painted that pantry door maybe two years ago already and it looks like it was just painted yesterday! #worthit

That’s it for this week – thanks for stopping by! Subscribe and stay tuned for the wall hanging and so many other details…
